By accessing or using Craftfolio, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you use Craftfolio on behalf of a community or organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these Terms for it.

Craftfolio is a discovery layer that indexes public developer and community information, making people and communities legible and findable. It is provided free today (see section 7), and features may be added, changed, or removed as the product evolves. Craftfolio itself does not use AI or automated large-language-model features to generate the content it shows. Developers and communities may, of course, use their own AI or LLM tools to help write their portfolios and listings; you remain responsible for anything you publish, and it must meet the acceptable-use rules in section 5.

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, for the accuracy of what you submit, and for activity under your account. Keep to one identity per person or community; impersonation and duplicate identities aren't allowed. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

You keep whatever rights you already have in what you submit. You grant Craftfolio a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, and display that content within the index for as long as you keep it listed, solely to operate the service. By submitting, you confirm you have the right to share it. This especially covers profile photos, partner and sponsor logos, uploaded files, and any member data you list. You may edit or remove your content at any time; removing it ends the licence for future use, subject to reasonable backup and retention windows (see the Privacy Policy).

Don't use Craftfolio to do anything illegal, or to: harass, abuse, or impersonate others; post content you don't have the rights to, or that infringes intellectual property; commit fraud or upload malware; gain unauthorised access to accounts, data, or systems, or attempt to circumvent our security or rate limits; or scrape, bulk-download, or resell the index or member data through automated means. We may remove listings or suspend accounts that break these rules (see section 12).

Community admins are responsible for the accuracy of any partner, sponsor, member, or event claims they make, and for holding the rights to any logos or images they display on their community page. Don't list a person or organisation in a way that misrepresents their relationship with your community.

The Craftfolio name, marks, design, and software are ours and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Content you submit remains yours, subject to the display licence in section 4. Nothing in these Terms transfers our IP to you, or your IP to us beyond that licence.

Craftfolio relies on a small set of third parties to operate; see the Privacy Policy for the current list (hosting and storage, GitHub and Google for optional sign-in, and Google Fonts). Social links, partner sites, and external events reachable from Craftfolio are not controlled or endorsed by us; following them, and any terms they impose, is at your own discretion.

Craftfolio is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the index, uninterrupted availability, or that the service is fit for any particular purpose. Craftfolio is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for professional (legal, financial, medical, or safety) advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover reasonable claims, losses, and costs that arise from content you submit, your misuse of the service, or your breach of these Terms or of someone else's rights. This does not apply where the loss is caused by us.

You may stop using Craftfolio and deactivate or (on request) delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or remove listings, or suspend an account, if it breaks these Terms or puts other users or the service at risk. Where practical we'll give notice and a way to respond. On termination we may remove the affected listings from the index; how we handle your remaining data is described in the Privacy Policy.

Your use of Craftfolio is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we handle it. These Terms don't replace that policy, so please read both.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice (for example, in-app or by email). Continuing to use Craftfolio after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya (courts of Nairobi), and disputes will be handled by the courts there, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live. (Provisional, to be confirmed before public launch.)
